Network Administrator Tool For the 5th National ICT Innovation Competition

Outline Overview Development Tools Functional and Non Functional Requirements Scope Limitations and Challenges Conclusion

Overview Now a days many organizations use manpower for file transfer, machine shutdown, sharing information. So this consumes time, energy and money. The whole PC-based systems, which are available right now, are all running through the Network type communication.

Problem Statement In the present generation of systems, there is a need for the administrator To go all around the network in order to terminate any system that is left non-terminated. It is more time consuming to control all the systems connected in a network manually.

Take the trouble of going to a particular system to access a file for obtaining the information.

Objective The main objective of this project is to develop Remote Network Administration.

Existing System LAN has different platforms and resources so if the administrator want to monitor or share the resources on the remote systems in the LAN, operating systems doesn’t have compatibility.

For example if the Client is running on Windows XP and Server is running on Windows 2000 then We don’t have the control on the remote system for doing Desktop Sharing and File Transfer to any remote system we have to depend on 3rd party tools to have common platforms and compatibility.

Proposed Solution Using the Network Administrative Tool, the administrator can View and control the remote system from the server system itself. Send any file in any format to the client systems. Control the operations of the remote system from his/her system itself.

Development Tools JAVA XML

Functional Requirement Private and public chat Chat history saved in XML format at local disk Private file transfer Remote Desktop View, mouse and key emulation Remote control such as Shutdown, Restart and log off Remote Pen drive detection when it plugged and unplugge

Non Functional Requirement The system responds in less than seconds. It displays error messages when there is incorrect data or unauthorized users. The system is secure for unauthorized user. Multiple users can access at the same time. The system has user friendly and interactive user interface.

Scope There will not be any client interaction except to execute the client side program. Each and every module in this project is individual and independent from others. The system can be done in a modularized fashion, so any changes can be done easily.

Modules There are basically five modules for developing the Network Administrator Tool Project. 1.Remote Desktop Sharing 2.File Transfer 3.Control 4.Chat 5.Pen Drive Detection

Remote Desktop Monitor the activities of the employees of that organization.

Control Pen Drive Detection Handles the termination operations like Shutdown Restart Logoff Pen Drive Detection Defines the detection of Pen Drive Port When the external device like Pen Drive or Hard Disk is added to the Client system, the Server will get a message.

Limitations and Challenge Can’t control when intranet is turned off or shutdown. All IP addresses fall in the same range. ·Firewall must be turned off for in windows Operating System

Conclusion Our project will reduce the physical strain of the administrator. Employees can share files as well as messages in a fast, secure and comfortable manner. Platform independent.
