Arabesque a pose with a straight gesturing leg

Rond De Jambe circular movements of the leg

Enveloppe the opposite of développé. When a dancer performs an enveloppé, they start with the working leg straight to either the front, side or back, then bend in to passe.

Retrograde The act of taking a sequence of choreography and reversing the order from back to front.
