Brief History of the Chariot

Sumerians: 2600 BC Early chariots of Ur, usually pulled by oxen or onagers Onager

Found in Iran and through out Central Asia, South Asia: 2000 B.C. drawn by four horses, has six spokes on its wheels, and has a driver standing up in a large chariot-box with an attacker Most similar to Indo Aryans

Egyptians: 1500 BC there are two archers riding in the chariot, one of them having the reins tied around his body to free his hands, also they invented spokes

South Asia:475 BC The scythed chariot was invented by the King of Magadha, Ajatashatru (Northern part of India)
