Hair or fur Backbone (vertebrate) Live birth Mother’s give milk to babies Warm blooded

Feathers & beaks 2 wings and 2 feet Babies are hatched from eggs Most birds fly

Hard skin (shells or scales) 4 short legs or no legs Babies are hatched from eggs Cold Blooded

Scales that cover body Use gills to breath Live in water (salt and fresh) Fins to swim in water

Do not look like their parents as babies Babies- Live in water breath with gills Adults- Live on land and breath with lungs Wet/moist skin Cold blooded Backbones Must live near water
