Charlie and The Chocolate Factory The book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was written in 1964. It’s sequel, Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator was written in 1972. Was turned into a movie, Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in 1971 and also Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2005.
The inspiration At age 7, first inspiration was from window shopping at the candy shops in his home town of Llandaff, Wales. At age 13, was a taste tester for Cadbury because his boarding school was close by.
