Edmodo Assignment Question #3 – due by Friday, September 20th Write about a TV show or movie that you have seen and tell the class what particular genre (or genres) it falls into.  Next, tell us WHY it would fall into this genre (describe elements of the show or movie that make it that specific genre).

Edmodo Assignment Remember! You are NOT texting. This is an English class assignment, so grammar, spelling, and punctuation rules apply and will contribute to how many points you earn.

Examples of a student response earning full credit A good example of a science fiction show would be Doctor Who. It contains time travel, aliens, and intelligent robots. This in my opinion is the best version of a sci-fi TV show. A good example of a science fiction movie would be Elysium. The reasons it would fall into this category would be because it is set in a parallel universe in the future and contains robots, healing machines, and flying cars.

Example of a student response earning extra credit The show "Pretty Little Liars" falls into both the realistic fiction and the drama categories. The show is partly mystery, partly romance, partly thriller, and partly horror. The show centers around four girls who have MANY problems in their lives. Many people have been murdered, and many characters have fallen in and out of love. Each episode seems to end with a creepy, mysterious person. I suppose I should label this “Hollywood” realistic fiction, though.
