What is the Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3)? Comprehensive 120-hour apprenticeship preparation curriculum Developed and approved by the Building Trades’ National Apprenticeship and Training Committee

Why was the MC3 created? To recruit better-prepared candidates for Building Trades Registered Apprenticeship Programs and to improve their retention in RA programs Middle-class career opportunities for underrepresented populations 1,700 students successfully completed the MC3 in 2015 and 2016 80% were from communities of color 25% were women

How would YouthBuild programs access the MC3? Implementation plan: In order to access the MC3, a Building Trades Council or their Partner Organization(s) must submit an MC3 Implementation Plan to the Building Trades’ national office. The Implementation Plan must answer the following questions: Who will teach the MC3 and where will the program be located? What organizations will partner with the Building Trades Council in this ARP? How will the program be funded and what is the source of these funds? How many people will be trained, and what is the start/end for the training? What is the name of the Council or Council partner representative who will attend the required Train-the-Trainer course, which is designed to prepare coordinators/instructors to set up the MC3? Most importantly, where and how will successful MC3 graduates, assuming that they meet all other requirements, be placed in Building Trades Registered Apprenticeship Programs?

How much does it cost? $75 per student per class No separate charge for Instructor access and materials Once the Implementation Plan has been approved and the program (per student) fees have been paid, YouthBuild program coordinators and instructors will receive usernames and passwords for the MC3 learning management system from NABTU

How is the MC3 delivered?

Are the instructors’ materials included? Step 4: View your Course Catalog As an Instructor, you have access to the Instructor’s Materials and the Student Materials Student Materials

Do YouthBuild students get a certificate when they complete the MC3?
