Presentation transcript:

Public’s views about cost/benefit effectiveness decisions about prescription drugs/medical or surgical treatments In many countries there are concerns about slowing the growth of health care costs. It has been suggested that some (prescription drugs/medical or surgical treatments) that have been shown to be safe and effective should not be (paid for by the government or health insurance plans/provided by the national health service) because their high cost is not felt to be justified by the amount of benefit they provide. Do you favor or oppose this?

Public’s views about comparative effectiveness decisions about prescription drugs/medical or surgical treatments Oppose providing/pay for (Favor comparative effectiveness decision-making) Favor providing/pay for (Oppose comparative effectiveness decision-making)

Public’s perception of how often the government or health insurers withhold expensive prescription drugs/medical or surgical treatments to save money In (your country) today, how often do you think (the government or health insurance plans withhold/the national health service withholds) high-cost (prescription drugs/medical or surgical treatments) from some people who might benefit from them in order to save money?
