Updates to 11th grade u. s. history New topics and pacing guide timeline Mini-Assessments

New Topics and Pacing Guide Timeline First 9 weeks topics were divided to further emphasize tested content, particularly also assessed benchmarks. Civil War & Reconstruction divided into two separate topics: The Civil War Reconstruction Industrialization divided into four separate topics: Rise of Industry Labor Movement Immigration & Urbanization Progressive Era

New Topics and Pacing Guide Timeline Third and Fourth 9 Weeks topics were reorganized thematically instead of organized by president. World War II The Cold War (Truman – Kennedy) Post-War Prosperity & Civil Rights The 1960s & Vietnam Post-1972 U.S. Foreign Policy Social Issues: Late 20th century – present

Also Assessed Benchmarks are Tested! Some of these changes were made in part to emphasize the importance of teaching the “also assesses” benchmarks that fall under the main umbrella benchmarks. Also Assesses means also tested! EOC items will test these benchmarks! Pay attention to these benchmarks when planning

Mini-Assessments Mini-assessments are 10-15 EOC style questions to assess and measure student progress throughout the year. They are to be administered using G2D, the district online testing platform. Data should be used by teachers to monitor student progress on an ongoing basis. Once the testing window is closed Access the chart with benchmarks and testing windows next to the 11th grade pacing guides on socialsciences.dadeschools.net
