Viewing Parasitic Slide with Proper Objective for Suspected Parasite

Step 1: Rotate nosepiece to lowest power setting (4X)

Step 2: Turn power on

Step 3: Iris Diaphragm is open

Step 4: Handle slides by edges only

Step 5: Place slide on microscope stage

Step 6: Center specimen on the stage

Step 7: Focus using the coarse focus adjustment

Step 8: Focus using the fine adjustment knob

Step 9: Scan slide to find specimen

Step 10: Center specimen in view

Step 11: Rotate nosepiece to 10X objective

Step 12: Focus with fine adjustment knob only

Step 13: Check and adjust iris diaphragm for right amount of light

Step 14: Task Complete
