Pop-Up School Pop-Up School: Education Outside Your Door Funded by the Community Foundation of Greater Flint

What is the Pop-Up School? The UM-Flint Pop-Up School: Education Outside Your Door program is a mobile classroom that provides high quality, play-based literacy, math, and science activities for young children.

Where Does the Pop-Up Van Go? This classroom is intended to serve those children most in need and visits: neighborhoods community events health fairs churches and other venues throughout the city of Flint. See Pop-Up School Webpage for list of scheduled events. www.umflint.edu/popupschool

What happens at Pop-Up? Children will explore various materials through play-based activities. Open-ended activities encourage creativity and give children an opportunity to express themselves freely. Outdoor spaces will be utilized as much as possible giving children direct experience with nature. This promotes inquiry-based learning in a real world setting.

Family Interaction Parents/guardians are encouraged to interact and learn with their children as they explore different hands-on projects and activities.
