“Where Love is Shown Daily” CASCADE MIDDLE SCHOOL “Where Love is Shown Daily”

6TH GRADE CORE SUBJECT TEACHERS Math – Mrs. Abbott ELA – Mrs. Myrick ELA – Ms. Lewis Science – Mr. Wilder Social Studies – Mrs. Ferrell Sped – LeAndra Denney

SCHOOL DAY Starts 7:55 Ends 2:55 Car Riders Picked up and dropped off in paved parking lot. (Not the front entrance to the school) All students will report to the gym or cafeteria in the mornings until 7:45 bell rings to go to first period class. All students must be picked up by 3:15

ABSENCES Students will turn in all absence notes to the front office on the morning they return to school. Parents will be notified when a student has been absent seven or more times. Three unexcused absences or tardies will result in an absence for that particular class.

VISITORS Students are not allowed to have visitors during the school day. Parents or other family members must report to the main office before seeing their child or checking them out of school. Most parental business can be handled in the office.

Please notify the office of any change of address or phone numbers so that our information is accurate.

ELECTRONICS AND VIDEO GAMES The school is not responsible if the items are lost or stolen. Improper use of electrics may result in the item being confiscated. Don’t bring them to school.

AGENDA Each student will be given an agenda. The agenda will be used to communicate with the parents as well as a place for all students to write their homework in. It is the students responsibility to keep up with their agenda and take it to EACH class.

Dress Code! BASICS TO REMEMBER Any color collard shirt School approved T-Shirts or college T shirt Hoodies of any kind No holes in the jeans If you have to ask its probably not dress code.

The entire dress code can be accessed at the Bedford County Board of Education website: http://www.bedfordk12tn.com Just select the “School Board” link on the left side of the page to access the entire policy

“Separate but equal”! Many attempts are made to separate the middle school students from the high school students. There are shared spaces in the building but… class changes are separate clubs and groups are separate sports calendars are separate dances and after school activities are separate

Some things will seem very familiar: Power School parent portal access available You will receive a grade level newsletter as well as a school wide newsletter and calendar Room fees and special class fees similar Detention from 3:00-4:00

Some new things they’ll love: Locks and lockers Bell schedule No straight lines! A bit more individual freedom but…

with the new freedom there is also some more responsibility…there is the possibility of homework in all of their classes. they will have to get from their lockers to the classrooms with all of their belongings.
