EIT Community across Europe EIT Raw Materials EIT Health EIT InnoEnergy EIT Food EIT Digital EIT Climate-KIC

EIT Community Achievements and Impact: A thriving trust-based innovation community Created 6 innovation communities Grown to 1000+ partners (2017) 1200+ entrepreneurial graduates 800+ start-ups created, nurtured & supported 6100+ high-skilled FTE jobs created Knowledge transfers created by the KICs (2010-2016) Start-ups and scale-ups raised €634 million in Venture Capital funding (up till 2016), proving recognition for the potential of the EIT Community The short answer is: a lot, and there is much more to come. The ecosystem the EIT has built thus far works. In 2017, two separate studies showing that the EIT ecosystem is working and delivering results were published, proving the value of the EIT’s work in boosting innovation in Europe. The European Commission’s mid-term Evaluation published in October stated that the EIT is unique; it’s true – we’re the largest innovation community in Europe, with 40 innovation hubs across Europe that have brought together over 1,000 partners, more than half of whom come from business, both large corporates and a very strong SME participation rate of 25% which surpasses the Horizon 2020 average of 20%. The achievements and impact of the EIT Community so far (based on Impact Study): With our support more over 6,100 highly skilled jobs were created; The 800 start-ups supported by EIT have created over 6,000 full-time, highly skilled jobs. Each job at the EIT Community supported the creation of an additional 14 jobs in the wider economy; Venture capitalists have invested more than €600 million in companies supported by EIT Community accelerators. By doing so, they have expressed strong confidence in the entrepreneurial activity; EIT Digital’s Accelerator ranked in 8th place among 579 accelerator programmes in Gust’s Global Accelerator Report 2016. And our accelerator programmes continue to attract more and more start- ups; Close to 100% of EIT InnoEnergy alumni find employment in Europe within six months of graduation. Their initial remuneration is up to 15% higher than their cohort non-EIT programme graduates.
