The Pan European Transport Corridor II – Situation Report Basis of the MoU (non contractual binding international standards, however, documenting the intention of cooperation ). Extension to Nishny Novgorod (RF) - signed Extension to Ekaterinburg – signed letter of intend. Connecting to the Volga Waterways system (North-South – Corridor) Connecting to the Trans Siberian Corridor Thus, facilitating EU-Central Asian, EU-East Asian and EU-Russian trade and tourism development.

Euro-Asian Transport Axis With focus on: The Pan European Transport Corridor II In the light of: Alternative routes and means of transport Avoiding the PEC II – segment in Belarus Financial decisions economizing transport by the transport operator (road charges in D – PL – BY) Using prime movers with most competitive cost level Optimizing transport time and –costs, aiming at market satisfaction increasing market share. Avoiding time consuming border crossings.

What is to be done Elimination of financial and administrative discriminations of specific groups of users. Construction of waiting areas before EU-Russian border crossings for long waiting times Simplifying administrative procedures as a precondition for development of trade and tourism. (Visa; Car registration; Insurances; Customs; etc) High speed train development in competition to aviation Provision of combined land transport. (Rail/Road) Introduction of multi-modal transport documents. (one way bill and one manifest / customs document for all transport modes).
