Good or Bad? Brainstorm with your group a list of negative issues and connotations that people might associate with radioactivity. With your group, brainstorm a list of positive ways that radiation technology has impacted society.

Good or Bad? As of 2008, there were 104 licensed nuclear reactors in the US, producing 20% of the country’s electricity. The newest plant was constructed in 1977. Three new plants are scheduled to begin construction in 2009. Why do you think there was such a long period with no new construction?
