Nutrition in Human Health Nutrition is the science of food and it's relationship to overall health Nutrients are chemical substances in food that the body needs for growth Metabolism is the sum of all physical and chemical changes in the body

NUTRITION STATUS Nutrition status is the body's condition related to the daily intake and use of nutrients Assessment of nutrition status in a hospital is completed by RD, RN, SLP, CM, and MD Based on PMH, anthropometics, biochemical, physical, and diet recall Documented with subjective, objective, analysis, and plan of action; SOAP
