Treaty of Versailles, 1919 Peace agreement ending WW1 Germany Punished Required Germany to admit guilt for World War 1 and pay reparations. Limit military to 100,000 U.S. Senate rejected the treaty to keep the U.S. free from foreign entanglements. U.S. did NOT sign the Versailles Treaty.
