When did Jesus Pray?

Luke 11:1-13 11 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples

2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. 3 Give us day by day our daily bread. 4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

5 And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; 6 For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? 7 And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. 8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you;(Receiveth) seek, and ye shall find; (findeth) knock, and it shall be opened unto you.(Opened) 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Prayer …It is the way followers of God talk to their Creator.

When we pray: We ask.. We cannot receive unless we first ask. (James 4:2) 2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. We need to ask according to Christ’s authority (John 16:24) 24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full We need to ask help for others. (2 Cor. 1:11) 11 Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf

We ask for pardon for ourselves.. ..For self. I John l:9 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ..For Pray for others. James 5:16 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

We thank God. ..David’s praise. Psalms 66:19-20 19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.20 Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me. ..Thank God for everything. I Thess. 5:18 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

We seek fellowship with God and brethren. James 4:8-108 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up

In the morning before heading to Galilee Mark 1:35 35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

After Healing People Luke 5:16 16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

Praying all night before choosing His 12 Apostles Luke 6:12-13 12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. 13 And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;

Giving Thanks to the Father before feeding 5,000 Matt. 14:19 19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude Mark 6:41 Luke 9:16

Before walking on water. Matt. 14:23 23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. cf. Mark 6:46 John 6:15

Before Peter called Jesus “the Christ.” Luke 9:18 18 And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?

At The Transfiguration Luke 9:28-29 28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray. 29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

At the Return of the 70 Luke 10:21 1 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Before Teaching His Disciples how they were to pray. Luke 11:1  And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples

At the Raising of Lazarus from the dead. John 11:41-421 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. 42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

Prayed for Peter’s faith when Satan asked to ‘sift’ him. Luke 22:31-321 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

In Gethsemane before His betrayal. 3 Times: Matt. 26:36-46 Luke 22:39-46 Mark 14:32-42

Right after being nailed to the cross, Jesus prayed, Lk. 23:34 “34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

In His Dying Breath, Jesus prayed: Luke 23:46 46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

Prayed a blessing on the bread before He ate with others After his Resurrection. Luke 24:30 30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them

Jesus blessed the disciples before His Ascension Luke 24:50-53 50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. 51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: 53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

Today, He makes intercession for us in Heaven Rom. 8:34 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Heb. 7:25 25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Heb. 9:24 24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: I John 2:1 2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world

Unfaithful to Jesus Christ: Obey Jesus Christ….Hear His Word Rom. 10:17 Believe In Jesus. John 8:24 Repent of your sins. Acts 17:30-31 Confess the Christ to be the Messiah Matt. 10:32-33 Be baptized into Christ for the remission of your sins. Acts 2:38 Live Faithfully always. I Cor. 15:58 Unfaithful to Jesus Christ: Confess.I John 1:9; Repent. Acts 8:22; Pray. James 5:16
