Systematic safety total system approach is based on the fact that the aviation system components – products, operators, crews, aerodromes, ATM, ANS, on the ground or in the air - are part of a single network 15/11/2018 Montreal 2011

Performance based regulation A measurable level of performance is periodically monitored and reviewed. Performance is established, maintained or improved. Worldwide Runway Excursions The slide contains the global rates for runway excursion accidents per 1 million flights in commercial air transport operations, above 2250kg MTOM between 2000 and 2010. It is a rate based on estimates of aircraft movements per State. Some countries have reported no runway excursion accident and are shown in grey. Colour codes: Green: up to 1 excursion per million departures Light Green above 1 and up to 2 runway excursions per 1 million flights Yellow: 2-3 Orange: 3-4 Red: 4 and above 15/11/2018 Montreal 2011
