Why? Chapter Feedback Bylaws Compliance Previous process cumbersome & subjective Awards did not promote the mission of SCTE Bylaws Compliance Previous compliance only captured meeting hours and financials, the bylaws cover more

Why? Results More active chapters Better chapter/staff communication Creates goal oriented results for chapters Creates opportunities to drive SCTE mission on a local level Annual roadmap and guidelines for creating a healthy chapter Periodic Progress Reports helps measure success

Awards Chapter Compliance Award (Required) Chapter Recruitment Award Chapter Professional Development Award Striving for Excellence Award Most Improved Chapter of the Year Chapter Achievement Award Chapter of the Year Chapter Member of the Year

Chapter Compliance Award Financial Compliance Quarterly Report, Bank Statements, Reconciliation Receipts Within 15 days of close of quarter +10 Within 30 days +5 Bank Cards Copies of card with new signatures sent to Chapter Support by April 30th. Must have one staff signer on the card for auditing purposes (Robin Fenton). If no changes, an email must be sent to Chapter Support by April 30th.

Chapter Board Review Bylaws Annual Review – the chapter board must review their bylaws Meet 4x per year Minutes e-mailed to chapter support, if received within 10 days of meeting +5 Current SCTE Membership SCTE checks on a monthly basis. Professional Development Technical Training Hours (30 hours) Meeting Reports and attendance roster submitted within 30 days of the meeting +10 Membership Minimum 50 affiliated SCTE members

All items received and a chapter is in compliance, Win the Compliance Award & One Free Cable-Tec EXPO registration All items received and earn 80 points, Win the Compliance Award & receive Two Free Cable-Tec EXPO registrations The chapter with the greatest improvement wins the Most Improved Chapter Compliance Award. The chapter with the highest amount of points wins the Chapter Compliance Award.

Chapter Recruitment Award New Members Number of new members added with chapter affiliation Jan 1 – Dec 31. The percentage of growth will be converted into a point value. Retaining Members Chapter Membership lists are pulled on January 1st and December 31st. Lists are compared and the individuals that are on both lists are counted. The percentage of growth will be converted into a point value. Recruitment/Retention Marketing Per occurrence +10

Best Practices! Get the word out!!!! Monthly Chapter review of new, lapsed or soon to lapse members. Email to remind members of their status Invite new members to an upcoming chapter event. Sample letters are available on the CORe site. Worth 10 points per occurrence.

Chapter Professional Development Award Certifications Every fully certified chapter affiliated member (+1 point); recorded quarterly Testing Opportunities Publicly advertised testing sessions in which individuals tested during the session (+10 points) Preparation for SCTE Certification On the meeting announcement, link a specific SCTE certification with the chapter training topic (+5 points)

Chapter Professional Development Award Every additional training hour above the 30hr requirement (+1 point) Webinars Create a 30 minute (or longer) webinar (+5 points) Post webinar to website and include a five question survey. Chapters receive 5 points for every 10 chapter members that complete the webinar.

Chapter Professional Development Award Technical Seminar Attendance (new 2013) Seminar Attendance lists from 2012 and 2013 are pulled. Lists are compared and the percentage of growth is converted into a point value. Does not include Vendor Day or Cable-tec Games. White Papers 2 page white paper discussing a cable related topic (+10 points)

Striving for Excellence Award Receive Striving for Excellence Certificate if chapter earns 150 points Chapter to accrue the most points wins the Striving for Excellence Award The chapter with the greatest improvement wins the Most Improved Striving for Excellence Award.

Point Maximum The maximum amount of points a chapter can receive per line item is 300 points per year. A line item refers to a specific items on the matrix and does not include section totals. This is to insure that the Chapter of the Year winners are excelling in all areas of the matrix and not just one specific item.
