Congruent Triangle Proofs

Some of the most common proofs in geometry involve congruent triangles Some of the most common proofs in geometry involve congruent triangles. The good news is that these proofs are pretty much always the same —only the details change.

There are 4 steps to congruent triangle proofs.

Step 1 Copy what you were GIVEN

Step 2 Find things you know know are congruent. such as …

Step 3 Say why the triangles are congruent.

Step 4 What you want to prove should be congruent because they are corresponding parts.

NOTE: In your book they usually call this CPCTC.
