Do you know what the study of coins is called ? Find out!

What do old coins tell us?

Read the name engraved on the coin. Who do you think was George VI? Why was his image found on the coin?

Which country is this coin from? How do you know that?

Observe the date given below. Why has this date been engraved?

Some coins were made of gold, some silver and some copper. Does the metal used , tell you something about the country? Do you see gold or silver coins any more? What are coins made of today?

Observe these coins Do you recognize the images on these Indian coins? What do the images tell you?

Take a clue from these coins and try to think of at least three more things that coins can tell us!
