University of Nebraska-Lincoln Articulation Conference April 2018 College of Business Changes Business Writing (BSAD 220) will be enforced as a prerequisite for Business Intermediate classes. Students should take the equivalent at community college if it is available Helpful Hints Take the equivalent of ECON 215 (Business Statistics) rather than STAT 218 (Elements of Statistics) Prioritize math requirement. Take calculus (equivalent of MATH 104 or 106) before transferring.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Articulation Conference April 2018 College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) Changes Name Change – Speech Pathology is now Communication Disorders Nutrition Health Sciences majors have new math requirements Education Majors—only English Language Arts majors need a COMM course as TEAC 259 meets the ACE 2 requirement Some majors may be impacted by budget cuts

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Articulation Conference April 2018 College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) Helpful Hints Athletic Training is ALWAYS a 4-year program; regardless of how many hours the student transfers. Professional Education courses generally will require 3 years of course work at UNL. That may be reduced by working closely with CEHS advising staff. Contact them early. The following majors require very few electives. Work with CEHS Advising Staff early. Elementary Education Elementary Education with Early Childhood Elementary Education with Special Education Secondary Education Broad Field Science Secondary Education English Language Arts Secondary Education Social Science

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Articulation Conference April 2018 Helpful Hints Getting in touch with the Engineering advising staff early will be SUPER beneficial. It will save you time and money. College of Engineering

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Articulation Conference April 2018 Helpful Hints Research UNL college-specific entrance requirements early. Students who don’t meet college- specific requirements (GPA or specific courses) are admitted to the Explore Center, and this can surprise students. Explore Center

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Articulation Conference April 2018 Hixson-Lied College of Fine & Performing Arts (FPA) Changes Art History Major may be impacted by budget cuts. The Directing and Management option in Theatre is on hiatus indefinitely. Contact Todd Cuddy in the department office for updates. Proposed new interdisciplinary major – Emerging Media Arts anticipated Fall 2019. It would absorb the current Film and New Media major. (Requires 3.0 GPA, On-line portfolio)

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Articulation Conference April 2018 Helpful Hints FPA students need to have some general education (ACE) courses to take at UNL to maintain full- time status. Cannot take a full load of just major classes. Art and Graphic Design majors—Be mindful that half of the major courses must be taken at UNL. Visit with FPA Advising staff early to set up sequence of courses to take at community college. Hixson-Lied College of Fine & Performing Arts (FPA)
