OBJECTIVE In the following presentation Students will learn some of the basic tools needed to do Electrical work around the home or farm. 11/15/2018

Students will be able to identify and explain the uses of the following Tools: Phillips screwdriver Straight screwdriver Needle nose pliers Wires trippers Hammer Tape measure Drill and bits Circuit tester Multi Meter Utility Knife Lineman pliers 11/15/2018

SCREWDRIVER PHILLIPS Slotted or Flathead 11/15/2018

*Screwdrivers are used to connect wire to receptacles, switches, lights,etc. *Screwdrivers are also used to install and remove switches, receptacles, plate and panel covers. 11/15/2018

NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS 11/15/2018

Needle nose pliers can be used to bend wire *Needle nose pliers can be used to bend wire. They also can be used cut smaller diameter wire. 11/15/2018

WIRESTRIPPERS 11/15/2018

Wire strippers are used to remove insulation from wire *Wire strippers are used to remove insulation from wire. NOTE-the different size openings for the different size wire. 11/15/2018

Hammers are used to install plastic receptacle and switch boxes. 11/15/2018

DRILL AND BITS A CORDLESS DRILL AND SPADE BITS ARE PREFERED 11/15/2018

Use a circuit tester to check and see if electricity is flowing from one area to another. If there is, the small light will come on. 11/15/2018

A utility knife or pocket knife might be used to cut away insulation or cut small diameter wire. 11/15/2018

LINESMAN PLIERS OR SIDECUTTERS 11/15/2018

Side cutters or Linesman pliers are used to cut and bend larger diameter wire. 11/15/2018
