Lord of the Flies Chapter 8

Summary Everyone is convinced there is a monster on the island and Jack wants to overthrow Ralph. Jack gets mad and leaves, they all try to make a new signal fire, but half the people leave to go to Jack’s group, of which he calls himself chief. They kill a sow and put the head on a spear as an offering to the monster. Jack invites Ralph’s group over for dinner. Then Simon goes and sees the head, and it talks to him as “Lord of the Flies”, saying Simon can’t escape him and they are going to have fun together. Then Simon loses consciousness.
