Applying to College Apply early! This is done online at the college’s website Encourage your student to apply to 2-3 schools Request transcripts through Parchment Application fee usually required (waivers for free/reduced lunch) Send test scores Final college decisions should be made by May 1

Make Campus Visits Make an appointment online or call the college admission’s office to schedule a visit Plan to attend with your student! Two sets of ears are better than one. Students get 2 college visit days (absences don’t count!) per year. Must bring back documentation on college letterhead, signed by Admissions Office, with date of visit. Turn into Main Office when they return.

Factors Considered By Colleges for Admission Decisions Transcript: complete academic record of high school, GPA, rigor of courses SAT/ACT scores Activities ***Good attendance and grades throughout the senior year are important. Check HAC regularly! Final transcripts are required by colleges.

Financial Aid Your student must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to be considered for financial aid. Step 1: Create an FSA ID at fsaid.ed.gov. Both student and parent need their own. Step 2: After October 1, go to fafsa.ed.gov to fill out the online application. You will need your social security numbers and 2017 tax records. Mark your calendars! Financial Aid Workshop on October 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria!

Considering WMU? The Chormann Family Scholarship is awarded to one AHS graduate who will attend WMU in the fall of 2019 Worth $7,500 per year for 4 years!!!! This is a $30,000 scholarship Must be accepted at Western to apply

Senior pictures must be submitted by Friday, January 25. Yearbooks may be ordered, senior ads may be purchased and senior pictures must be submitted using the following website: http://www.yearbooknerds.com/adrian-high-school Senior pictures must be submitted by Friday, January 25. Yearbooks are $55 until 1/25/18. They will then go up to $65. There is a link on the high school website to purchase.

Obligations Students must pay all parking tickets, return all textbooks and athletic uniforms and pay cafeteria balances before graduation Caps & gowns are only distributed to students who have NO obligations The obligation list is posted outside of the Counseling Office in the senior hallway. Students need to check it often in the last trimester!

GRADUATION IS SUNDAY, JUNE 2, 2019 @ 2 P.M. AT MAPLE STADIUM Caps & Gowns Measurement takes place Thursday, September 27 in the Senior Lobby. Order that day and receive a free tassel! Cost is $55 and must be paid when measured. Cash, checks or Visa, Mastercard and Discover credit cards are accepted Makeup measurement day: Wednesday, October 17 Caps & gowns are required to march in graduation Caps & gowns are handed out at marching practice on Thursday, May 30 to students who have no obligations (lost books, missing athletic uniforms, parking tickets).
