Corticomotor Facilitation in Vegetative State: Results of a Pilot Study  Francesca Pistoia, MD, Simona Sacco, MD, Antonio Carolei, MD, FAHA, Marco Sarà, MD  Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation  Volume 94, Issue 8, Pages 1599-1606 (August 2013) DOI: 10.1016/j.apmr.2013.01.019 Copyright © 2013 American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine Terms and Conditions

Fig 1 Timeline of clinical assessments (A). Stimulation protocol: during each experimental condition, patients received 10 trains of magnetic pulses. Each train included 15 stimulations, so that the total number of TMS pulses for each condition was 150. The 3 conditions were each tested through 10 consecutive trains of pulses with a 10-second time interval between these consecutive trains (B). Fig 4 Weekly CRS-R scores before and after the administration of the neurophysiologic/neurobehavioral experimental paradigm. Blown-up section to show daily scores for the days immediately before and after the administration of the stimulation protocol. Changes during the administration protocol (12th week) occurred after the Observation to Imitate condition only and were transitory.
