County Unemployment Rate Falls Is this good? County Unemployment Rate Falls From 2010 Through 2015 -3.3%

County Labor Force Falls Number of Residents Employed Is this bad? County Labor Force Falls From 2010 Through 2015 By 1,680 Number of Residents Employed From 2010 Through 2016 Falls By 962

Those Tricky Numbers Month Labor Force Employed Unemployed Unemployed Percentage 2010 18,938 17,214 1,724 9.1% 2015 17,258 16,252 1,006 5.8% Difference -1,680 -962 -718 -3.3% Despite the fact that fewer people are employed the unemployment rate decreased because of the drop in the size of the labor force. If the labor force had stayed the same size in 2015 as in 2010 the unemployment rate would have been 14.2% which would have been an increase of 5.1% Source: Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Bureau of Labor Market Information
