SCRIP Scrip Total for 2017-18: $21,207.83 Scrip use is up 20% from last season! New this season – mailboxes designed specifically for member receipt of Scrip. Slide 8 should be 10793.93 raised for scrip so far this season, september 2015 through Feb 2016, not 23434.78.  I had to many excel sheet open.... $23,434.78 for Scrip $543.22 was raised from United Community ~ Not sure if this goes anywhere, I don't see it 841.55 extra rebate from Kwik Trip that gets added into the Scholarship fund ~ Not sure if this goes on these slides??  

Program Operations Updates Implemented weekly power skating with Amy Brolsma – recognized need to improve our player’s overall skating abilities Welcomed Goalies, Inc this season – recognized need to improve our goalie training and support Increased practices per week from 2 to 3 Increased number of home games for Pee Wee/12U and Bantam/14U Hosted a pre-season Gamblers game at AFIC to raise funds for our program – SUCCESS! We have been told they would like to do this with us again in 2018. Brought “Learn to Play” program back to AAHA for the 2017-18 season

What do the numbers tell us? TRENDS ONLY – the numbers alone don’t tell us where individual skaters have gone. What do we mean by this? Girls may switch from the youth program to the girls program and vice-versa Players going to and returning from Tier I programs (Jr. Gamblers, Jr. Admirals) Player transfers in for one season Player transfers out Families moving out of AAHA boundaries Players entering the High School program Players who stop playing hockey altogether This information is being studied more closely to follow the movement of individual skaters and to determine the actual growth and loss we are experiencing throughout the program.

WAHA – Collaborative Efforts and Directive AAHA requested a meeting with WAHA in December, 2017 WAHA recognized our desire to strengthen our association, expand our board and increase committee presence within our organization. WAHA recognized we were trying to act within our Bylaws but that our Bylaws were in need of revision due to structure changes that occurred several years prior. WAHA supported our efforts to revise the association Bylaws and helped with the revisions. The WAHA President approved a directive/collaborative effort between AAHA and WAHA that allowed us to initiate an immediate expansion of the Board of Directors (call for candidates and appointment in January, 2018). This directive also supported our efforts to strengthen and rebuild multiple areas of the organization. WAHA supported the implementation of association policies and forms.

Association Bylaws Overview of Revisions

Why are we revising the Bylaws? The Bylaws have not been revised since 2008 (Bylaws are dated 2000 with amendments occurring in 2007 and 2008) The association has not utilized positions incorporated in the 2000/2007/2008 bylaws for several years necessitating revision Revised in an effort to increase clarity and understanding Revised to incorporate previous applicable amendments into the body of the document

Other revisions include: “Corporation” changed to “AAHA” throughout. Removed Article III (2) regarding eligibility and qualification for membership including manner of suspension and termination of membership. Membership information now incorporated into association policy. Membership voting privilege changed to one vote per registered skater.

Revisions (Continued) Removed obsolete board positions (i.e. travel director, house director, high school varsity coach). Revised board director positions to be “at least nine.” The nine elected Board of Directors will appoint the Board officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Director of Operations) each year.

Conclusion Success of AAHA depends on the skaters and the members Thank you to all the coaches, committees, volunteers, WAHA support and etc. We look forward to the 2018-19 Season
