HERAKLION, JANUARY 2014

ΕΥΡΩΠΑΪΚΟ ΑΠΟΛΥΤΗΡΙΟ – EUROPEAN BACCALAUREATE It is the final title awarded by the European Schools at the end of the Secondary Circle For the final mark all the marks given in the 7th course, as well as the BAC written and oral exams are taken into consideration. There are universities interested in the marks from the year 5th and especially from the year 6th and up but these marks are not registered in the final title. Regular and consecutive attendance at least in the year 6 and 7 classes of the secondary section is needed in order to participate in the final exams and to be awarded the Baccalaureate.

ΕΥΡΩΠΑΪΚΟ ΑΠΟΛΥΤΗΡΙΟ – EUROPEAN BACCALAUREATE The students “make” their own Baccalaureate in the beginning of the 6th year, they therefore choose the subjects, which they will attend the next two years. These choices are related to the choices in the 3rd but mainly in the 4th year. Many subjects can’t be chosen if the students haven’t attended them in the 4th and 5th year. Still there is the chance of having an attainment test at the end of the 5th year. In some of these subjects the students will have a simultaneous harmonized written (5) and oral (3) exam, at the end of the 7th year (BAC EXAMS). The examinations will normally cover the year 7 syllabus, but will also test knowledge gained in previous years, especially year 6.
