Confucius Confucius was a Chinese scholar and philosopher from around 500 BCE who wanted to bring peace and order to China.

Philosophy Confucianism is the philosophy started by Confucius. A philosophy is someone's basic beliefs about the way people should live.

Confucianism According to Confucianism, people must respect each other and follow a code of conduct. Respect must be shown to family members and between government officials and people.

Confucianism Above all, children were always supposed to respect their elders. This is called Filial Piety.
