Kidneys Your kidneys are two bean-shaped organs located just below the rib cage and on either side of your spinal cord. They are just about the size of your fist and they can filter about 120 to 150 quarts of blood and produce 1 to 2 quarts of urine composed of wastes and toxins from your body. These toxins are transferred to your bladder. The kidney is not just one large filter, but each kidney is made up of millions of filtering units called nephrons. Each nephron filters out a small amount of blood.
Large Intestine Your large intestine is tasked with absorbing water and vitamins during the process of converting digested food into feces. The large intestine is much wider than the small intestine, but is also much shorter. This process is called peristalsis and can take around 36 hours. First, liquid and salt is removed from the waste as it passes through the intestine.
Liver The Liver is a large meaty organ that is located and sits in the right side of the belly. The liver is about 3 pounds, rubbery to the touch and reddish - Brown in color. The Liver converts excess of amino acid which can be found in the blood stream into other compounds which the body can use. A ware product called Urea is produced because of that.
Skin Your sweat glands are highly vascular, coiled, simple tubular glands. They have the ability to separate wastes from blood and convert it into sweat. Sweat is formed of water, sodium chloride, lactic acid, some urea and carbon dioxide. These are branched glands opening into the hair follicles, and these secrete a waxy substance called sebum formed from lipids like wax.
Lungs The lungs are a vital part to the body, as are many other parts. In most vertebrates the 2 lungs are located near the backbone on either side of the heart. he lungs remove carbon dioxide buildup in your blood. To do this specialized cells called alveoli are used. Your lungs help you breathe. The lungs process molecules into gas and when we breathe the gas ejects from our bodies. AKA Carbon Dioxide I
Bladder The urinary bladder is a muscular sac in the pelvis. It is just above and behind the Pubic bone. When the bladder consists of nothing in it, it looks similar and is the size of a pear. The ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra come together to The ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra together form the urinary tract, which acts as a plumbing system to drain urine from the kidneys, store it, and then release it during urination.
How does the Excretory System work with other systems to help the body function??? The excretory system works with the endocrine, respiratory system ,and digestive. The endocrine system uses gland from the excretory system to get wastes out of the body. It works with the respiratory system because it helps the lungs get rid of carbon dioxide and water vapors. It works with the digestive system to help get rid of wastes that you eat through the anus.
5 Fun Facts About the Execetory System The Bladder’s weight is very similar to the Brains weight The average human urinates 3,000 times annually. On average in a person's life time they will produce 7,850,000,000,000 gallons of urine. 95% of a person's urine is water, 5% is actual waste. Throughout one day blood will pass through your kidneys 300 times on average.
