Newborn Bloodspot Screening (NBBS) Pathway Template Collection of Bloodspot Samples: Community midwives (UHCW, SWFT, GEH, WAHT, WVT) [some samples taken by HVs, phlebotomy, neonatal or paediatric services] For retest and older children: Paediatric liaison nurses (CWPT, SWFT, HACW, WVT) Via regional arrangement with BHBC AT Sample Analysis (Screening): Newborn lab (BCH) Second line testing (Assessment) for CF, SCT, DNA analysis and MCADD: Specialist lab (lab subcontract) Reporting of results: General: CHRD’s (CWPT, SWFT, HACW, WVT) Carriers: HVs / specialised genetics / CF services (BCH) Reporting of results: Positive results: designated specialist service First referral to clinician: Designated specialist service
