Mrs. Phillips’ Newsletter Week of May 5th Special Announcements: The last day of school for students will be June 5th. Testing will begin May 19th!!! We are working so hard!! I will be sending home math curriculum papers to let you know the concepts that your child has mastered or might need to continue practicing. Important Dates and Information: Candy Bar sales are booming!!!! Thank you for participating!! May 2nd- NMES Field Day May 8-4th Grade Science TEST May 9th- Midterms go home May 12th – Phillips and Sparks to Carter Caves This trip is more expensive than our typical trips. It will cost each child $10. The fee for the caves is $9 and $1 for travel expenses. PTA is so kindly covering the additional travel expenses to allow us to only charge $10. May 19th-May 23rd KPREP testing!! I am so proud of all my students and know they will perform well!!! May20th- School will be in session June 5- Last day for students -5th grade promotion ceremony at 1:00 PM Summer Clubs- Week of June 16 and June 23rd What We’re Learning: Reading and Language: We are continuing to review concepts to prepare for KPREP. We are completing and discussing lots of KPREP released test items. Math: 3rd Grade- We will continue to work on geometry and elapsed time. We are reviewing all concepts! 4th grade-We will continue to work on geometric terms and measuring angles with a protractor. We are reviewing all concepts. Please continue to check for your child’s weekly multiplication progress. Each week your child gets an oops or congrats note! =) Science: Our final Science Test will be on May 8th. This is a combination review of two test we have already taken. Each child should have copies to practice with as well as my answer key that went home.
