Make sure your teacher has your data summary sheets. POST FIELD TRIP- Ensure your group and individual data sheet is completed. Make sure your teacher has your data summary sheets. It is important you are as accurate as possible in putting your data into the system- a couple of students from each class will be asked to do this. guidelines here.

Plastic Free Seas Assessment You will also produce an Individual assessment for this piece of work consisting of: 1 An infographic and written analysis about the sources, causes and effects ( of the waste found on your stretch of beach, data related to your own plastic use, Plastic waste created in your classroom) 2 A letter to the HK government evaluating 2 potential solutions to the problem of beach waste and a recommendation.

Infographic Produce an infographic (Piktochart or Canva ) to show information about the types and sources of waste found in your part of the beach, your own personal plastic waste or classroom waste. and the cause and effects of plastic waste in sea. Secondary research data can also be used.

Writing for your infographic- ideas 1 Describe the main types/categories of waste found on the beach shown in your graph/s, use numbers in your descriptions about the amounts of different waste categories. 2 What are the origins of the waste- Hong Kong? (short sentences that describes the sources and reasons for a couple of waste types being found on the beach) or from our school waste bins. 4 Explain the types of problems that this waste creates? (at least 2 problems- how does it affect plants and animals, ecosystems, humans etc)

2. Letter to the Hong Kong Government- evaluating 2 potential solutions to the waste problem. Planning for the letter template- critically evaluating 2 solutions to the problem of waste on beaches and in our seas. You will then write up a neat version of your letter next week to send to the Hong Kong Environment Secretary to suggest the best way of solving the problem of plastic in our seas.
