Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) one-year programme that offers a practice-oriented curriculum taught by polytechnic lecturers to better prepare poly-bound N(A) students for entry into relevant Polytechnic Diploma courses an alternative to the Sec 5 year Diploma Programme at Polytechnics (3 Years) PFP (1 Year) Sec 5N(A) Take O-Level Alternative pathway Top N(A) students Sec 4(NA)

Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) The PFP will be offered by all five polytechnics More than 70% of Polytechnic Diploma courses will be offered under the PFP

Eligibility Criteria obtain an ELMAB3 (English + Math + Best 3 Subjects) aggregate not exceeding 11 points excluding CCA bonus points; minimum Grade 3 for each subject; and meet the subject-specific requirements of the courses they are applying for. Some courses may require relevant subjects to be less or equal to 3. Eligibility does not guarantee placement in a PFP course. Placement is subject to the availability of vacancies and in open competition with other eligible applicants based on merit.

Sec 4N(A) students who sit for GCE O-Level examination subjects in 2018 may use the following grade conversion table for computation of their ELMAB3 aggregates: GCE ‘O’ Level Grade Converted Grade A1-B3 1 B4-C6 2 D7 3

ITE Direct Entry Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP) Direct progression from a Higher Nitec course to a related Diploma course in Polytechnic. Retention Criteria Obtain an aggregate score of: Not exceeding 21 points for ELMAB3 i.e. (ELMAB3 ≤ 21); or Not exceeding 14 points for ELB3 (English Language and best three other subjects) i.e. (ELB3 ≤ 14); or Not exceeding 14 points for MAB3 (Mathematics and best three other subjects) i.e. (MAB3 ≤ 14) Maths can be counted as one of the Best 3 subjects. English can be counted as one of the Best 3 subjects.
