Cardiac Cycle The cardiac cycle has two steps The first step is the systole, which is when the heart empties with blood The second step is diastole, which is when it fills with blood

Heart Beat The heart has two distinct normal sounds, “lub” and “dub”, put together called “lub-dub” The “lub” sound occurs on the systole The “dub” sound occurs on the diastole
