Honeywell Automation College Let's begin our web-based training orientation for the HC-0002 course. CEP Web Based Training Orientation EXP-1015 CEP Experion PKS: Fundamentals – Basic Networking Concepts and FTE Implementation

Getting started Welcome to Automation College’s Course Evolution Project Web Based Training! You can access all course content 24 hours a day This presentation provides the information you need to get started right away! Welcome to Automation College's web-based training offering! We are really excited about this method of delivering training to you and we hope that you find it just as useful as well. Now besides the obvious advantage of avoiding travel, you do have 24- hour a day access to the course content while you are taking the course. Now, we don't expect you to work 24 hours a day, a normal 6 to 7 hour work day will get you through the course material assuming you wanted to complete the course in one week. Let's give you an idea about the course so you can get started right away!

Course structure and tools Asynchronous learning – at your own pace and schedule Pre-Recorded Lectures (accessed via links) Demonstration movies (embedded in lectures) Email access to help There are no labs in this course. Consequently, no VM access is required. I'd like to talk next about the course structure and the tools that are available to you over the duration of the course. Our training uses a learning approach called asynchronous learning, which you can take at your own pace and schedule. You are taking this course in a self-paced asynchronous mode, so you can refer to the course introduction module and course progress goals to get an understanding of the sequence and reference for completion each day. You also have available to you from our website the pre-recorded lectures throughout the duration of the course. At that same website, we have a course book in PDF form as a downloadable. The website also has video demonstrations in the form of screen recordings of the Hybrid Control Designer and Station Designer tasks that you will perform in the lab exercise. One of the nice things about this course is that you have access to your own PC, it will be as if you are using a real server using something called a "virtual machine". We will talk about virtual machines in a second here. And finally, you will have access through e-mail to ask any questions. There are no test-out options for this course.

CEP Course Options You have two options Complete the full course (mandatory lessons) and get course completion credit (preferred approach) Mandatory Lessons You need to complete all recorded lecture sand post-tests Optional Lessons There are not optional lessons for this course Complete a portion of the course, and not receive course credit Complete only the lectures/videos, without passing the post-test Complete the lessons in order, or go immediately to the lessons of interest

End of Lesson Quiz The final element of each lesson is a quiz (embedded in the lecture) You must pass the quiz to get course completion credit You are allowed two attempts If you fail the second attempt, you must review the lesson content, and wait 7 days to request that the quiz be reset

Recorded Lecture/Demo Movie Site LMS URL sent to you Recorded Lectures Embedded videos and tests Take a moment to understand the resources available to you for this asynchronous training. Items starting with words like “Describe” or “Identify” are lectures. Most of the lectures have audio recording and transcripts while there may be few without audio but with transcription scripts. Modules starting with the word “lab” are PDF files of lab procedures to be performed on your virtual server or for as reference only. Modules starting with “Vnn” are demonstration videos for lab exercises, where “nn” corresponds to the tab number in the course. You can view these videos when you need assistance to perform lab exercises.

It’s not a race… ..it’s more or less a steady jog If needed, assistance is available TraCorp help HERE VM Lab Tier 1 Support HERE VM Lab Skytap Support HERE Course Content support HERE Add a brief description of your problem to the e-mail subject line Add a screen capture and description of your problem to the body of your email As you are going through the course, you'll want to remember that it's not a race. A lot of times we may get into a little bit of friendly competition with a co-worker who may be taking the same course and we feel like we have to keep up with them. So the course is not a race to complete before someone else, it's more or less a steady jog through the course topics that apply to your training needs. We also have available for you the course progress goals and course syllabus that will help you pace your learning. This is especially helpful if you think that you will encounter interruptions during your workweek. The course progress goals and syllabus are at the same website as the prerecorded lectures and video demonstrations. You have two full weeks to complete the course. We highly recommend that you view demonstration movies as a first resource to answer lab questions. If needed instructor assistance is available as mentioned on the slide. If you wish to report any issues, include a screen capture and description of the issue in your email.
