Land accounts – a link between SEEA CF and SEEA EEA Nancy Steinbach and Viveka Palm, Department of Regions and Environment

A contribution – think about this Is the methodology and proposed way of analysing the results useful in the context of linking SEEA CF to the SEEA EEA? Could this type of methodology and analysis be appropriately placed in the future revised SEEA EEA? Do you have knowledge of various coeffcients or factors available for the creation of links between land and service production? Could a list be created for the future revised SEEA EEA?

One way of describing the SEEA CF Trade

The Ecosystem accounting model

Could link it through stock accounts! The Swedish user community reaction…..

What is it we do today that works? The flow accounts! What about it works? The classifications helps The industry classification (NACE/ISIC) The product breakdown (CPC/CPA/CN) Institutional sector (government, households etc)

Geographic connection Property taxation Business register Fnr_nr* OrgNr** Properties Owner Industry (SNI) Type of taxation unit Number of employees Taxation value Turnover Geographic connection Land cover data (exchangeable)

Basic questions on the material How is the ownership of land distributed? By industries (NACE/ISIC)? By property types?, by size of companies and number of employees? Which industries are dominated within certain regions or dominated by a certain type of land?

How is the ownership of land distributed?

agriculture and forestry industry large land owners, where can we expect to find them? Agriculture, forestry and fishery (percent of total land)

What is the structure of the ownership?

How about linking it to services? A test – using coefficients of carbon content in above ground biomass

Conclusions We believe that this can be a good way to present the economic actors in mandate of the land that is important for biodiversity. The study will be needed to extend to the water area and more land areas. We hope that the method can work also for other statistical agencies to enable harmonised comparisons.

A contribution – think about this Is the methodology and proposed way of analysing the results useful in the context of linking SEEA CF to the SEEA EEA?  Can you imagine trying this approach? Could this type of methodology and analysis be appropriately placed in the future revised SEEA EEA? Do you have knowledge of various coeffcients or factors available for the creation of links between land and service production? Could a list be created for the future revised SEEA EEA?
