Figure 1 Innervation Drives Enteric Cancer Growth Nerve growth factor (NGF) secreted by enteric cancer cells promotes cholinergic innervation of the tumor microenvironment, while acetylcholine (Ach) released from invading nerves promotes cancer cell proliferation via upregulated Wnt signaling.
