Lesson 14: The Book of Esther Scriptures in quotation marks are taken from the KING JAMES VERSION of the Bible.

Esther 1:10-11 – He orders his wife to show her beauty, which probably meant to undress before his guests. Esther 1:19b – To make a decree giving the queen’s position to someone better than she

Esther 2:21-23 – He prevents the king from being murdered. Esther 2:2-4 – The king appoints officers to gather beautiful young women from all over the kingdom & let the king choose one. Esther 2:21-23 – He prevents the king from being murdered.

Esther 3:6 – “Destroy all the Jews,” beginning with Mordecai Esther 5:10-12 – He brags to his friends and his wife (Zeresh) about his great riches, his many children, his promotion by the king, and about being invited to the exclusive party by the queen.

Esther 5:13-14 – Mordecai; He still refuses to bow to Haman, so at the suggestion of Haman’s friends, a gallows 50 cubits (75 feet) high is built, upon which to hang Mordecai. Esther 6:10-11 – Haman put the king’s robe on Mordecai, put him on the king’s horse and led him through the streets on horseback proclaiming the king’s pleasure with him.

Esther 7:10 – He orders Haman to be hung on the gallows he built for Mordecai. Proverbs 11:8 - The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked comes in his stead.
