December 25th is Christmas. It’s a holiday celebrating the birthday of Jesus Christ.

Before Christmas, people decorate their homes.

They decorate Christmas trees, too.

People send Christmas cards. They used to send them by snail mail. Now, they can also send them by e-mail.

Many children write a wishing letter to Santa Claus.

Children hang up stockings. So, Santa Claus can fill the stockings with gifts.

People sing Christmas carols. They sing carols and raise money for the poor.

On Christmas Eve, many people go to church.

On Christmas day, they bake cookies and prepare milk for Santa Claus.

Families and friends have Christmas dinners and parties together.

People give gifts to those they love.

Everybody greets “Merry Christmas” to each other.
