[Jdg 6:11-15 ESV] 11 Now the angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And the angel of the LORD appeared to him and said to him, "The LORD is with you, O mighty man of valor." 13 And Gideon said to him, "Please, my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all his wonderful deeds that our fathers recounted to us, saying, 'Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?' But now the LORD has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian." 14 And the LORD turned to him and said, "Go in this might of yours and save Israel from the hand of Midian; do not I send you?" 15 And he said to him, "Please, Lord, how can I save Israel? Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house."

Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house." LACKED WILLINGNESS

[1Sa 16:7, ESV] 7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart." ...

Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house." UNTESTED VALOR

UNTESTED VALOR HUMILITY [Jdg 6:11-15 ESV] 11 Now the angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And the angel of the LORD appeared to him and said to him, "The LORD is with you, O mighty man of valor." 13 And Gideon said to him, "Please, my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house." UNTESTED VALOR HUMILITY

THE LORD WOULD BE WITH HIM UNTESTED VALOR [Jdg 6:16 ESV] 16 And the LORD said to him, "But I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man." HUMILITY THE LORD WOULD BE WITH HIM

[Jdg 4:4-9 ESV] 4 Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time. 5 She used to sit under the palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the people of Israel came up to her for judgment. 6 She sent and summoned Barak the son of Abinoam from Kedesh-naphtali and said to him, "Has not the LORD, the God of Israel, commanded you, 'Go, gather your men at Mount Tabor, taking 10,000 from the people of Naphtali and the people of Zebulun. 7 And I will draw out Sisera, the general of Jabin's army, to meet you by the river Kishon with his chariots and his troops, and I will give him into your hand'?" 8 Barak said to her, "If you will go with me, I will go, but if you will not go with me, I will not go." 9 And she said, "I will surely go with you. Nevertheless, the road on which you are going will not lead to your glory, for the LORD will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman." Then Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh.

[Jas 4:5-7 ESV] 5 Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, "He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us"? 6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble." 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Talents are revealed only when we leave our comfort zone Peter John Matthew Simon Andrew Saul Moses David Esther

[2Co 12:9 ESV] 9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. [1Co 1:26-31 ESV] 26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. …31 so that, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."

Faith / Trust are necessary to overcome doubt [1Pe 2:9 ESV] 9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. [Mat 10:31 ESV] 31 Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Faith / Trust are necessary to overcome doubt [Phl 1:14 ESV] 14 And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

Faith / Trust are necessary to overcome doubt [2Ti 1:7 ESV] 7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. [Rev 20:6 ESV] 6 Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.

Do we have the faith in God to discover our real selves? By… Humility? Trust? Submission? Willingness? Leaving our comfort zone?
