Medical Terminology – List 3 Arrhythmical movement – irregular movement; does not follow smooth, rhythmical pattern Arthroscopic examination – viewing the inside of a joint via an arthroscope (camera) Arthrology – study of joints Arthroscopy – less invasive surgery using the a scope (camera) to see the problem inside a joint Articulation – bone ends that come together and form a joint Assumption of risk – an individual, through expressed or implied agreement, assumes that some risk or danger will be involved in a particular activity

Medical Terminology – List 3 Asymmetries – lack of symmetry of the body (usually compared bilaterally) ATP – adenosine triphosphate; body energy unit Atrophic necrosis – death of an area due to lack of circulation Avascular necrosis – death of an area due to lack of blood supply Avulsion – a tearing away of tissue; open wound with flap of skin Ballistic – bouncing (usually related to stretching)
