ים המלח הינו המקום הנמוך ביותר בעולם ים המלח הינו המקום הנמוך ביותר בעולם. הים, שריד לימה גדולה מן העבר, מהווה תופעה ייחודית ובלעדית שאין לה אח ורע ברחבי העולם. ים המלח נוצר בשיאו של השבר הסורי – אפריקני, ומשתרע בלב בקע הירדן. מליחות מימיו פי 10 ממי האוקיינוסים. תצורות נוף ופסלי מלח מרהיבים נוצרו לאורך החוף ועל פני מי ברכות האידוי, פינות טבע טובלות במים מתוקים התפתחו לאורך חופי הים, ואילו מימיו מהווים את אחד המשאבים הכלכליים והתיירותיים החשובים ביותר בישראל. האם נדע לשמור על אוצר זה? The Dead Sea is the lowest point on our planet, and is a unique phenomenon with no match throughout the entire world. The Dead Sea was created at the peak of the Syrian-African rift, and spreads amidst the Jordan Graben. The degree of its water saltiness is ten times more than the oceans’. Spectacular landscape formations and breathtaking salt sculptures were created along the coast and atop the evaporation pools. Greenery nooks and crannies immersing in fresh water are spotted along its coastline and its waters make one of the most important touristic and economical resources of Israel. Will we know how to preserve this treasure?
