Introduction Nowadays, Virtual Reality has become increasingly popular among users in different industries But for most VR design, the movement of the user(character) requires controller to make it applicable.

Introduction VR walking device! What we want to do? We want to make a Replace the controller by stepping with different speed and facing direction to move around.

Features Provide user an affordable device that can imitate the actual “walking experience” in a VR world without needing a spacious area. Easy to set up and disassemble

System Overview Power System Control and Sensing System Battery, voltage regulator Control and Sensing System EMG Sensors, LSM9DS1 IMU chip and Microcontroller Arduino Tian Software System Unreal Engine 4

Block Diagram Power System Software System Control and Sensing System

Voltage Regulator Reason Why we need it: 1. Deisgned to automatically maintained a constant voltage output level

Voltage Regulator

Voltage Regulator (1) For 9V output, R1 = 240 Ώ, R2 = 1500 Ώ: = 6.25, 1.25V * 7.25 = 9.06 V; (2) For 3.7V output, R1 = 240 Ώ, R2 = 470 Ώ; = 1.96, 1.25V * 2.96 = 3.7 V; (3) For 2.7V output, R1 = 240 Ώ, R2 = 279Ώ; = 1.1625, 1.25V * 2.1625 = 2.703 V;

Voltage Regulator

EMG Sensor Circuit Measure electrical activity of muscle group (tibialis anterior) Amplify and filter

IMU Sensor - LSM9DS1 Reason Why we need it: 1. Collect the information to help us identify the orientation of the user Features of LSM9DS1: This IMU chip includes three types of sensors: (1)accelerometer, (2)gyroscope, and (3)magnetometer.

IMU Sensor - LSM9DS1

Microcontroller Reason Why we need it: 1. Collect data signal from IMU and EMG sensors 2. Send the data to PC through Wi-Fi
