D-Day Letter How you will work today: 1. This is an assessment grade for LG WWII Battles, you must work independently on this. 2. Use your notes, textbook, and class lessons to help you complete the assignment. 3. Your final copy will due Friday. 4. You may listen to music responsibly while you work. Learning Goal : Students will be able to explain the major battles and events that enabled the Allies to defeat the Axis. D-Day Letter Directions: Imagine you are an 18 year old soldier involved in Operation Overlord (D-Day). I want you to write a letter home to a family member, or loved one about what you are doing. The letter should be written as if the D-Day invasions are over and you are writing a summery of your training and how the battle went. You must include information about what happened during the D-Day Invasion. Size of the operation. Names of key people involved with it. Where it takes place. (the country, beaches…) What the invasion was like- type of fighting. Your role/ job as a soldier.   In addition to the information about D-Day, I want you to make your letter as period appropriate as possible. Make the letter sound like you are writing from June 6th, 1944. 3 Paragraphs 5 Sentences each
