SurgiNet Process Flow Preference / Procedure Cards are built. A case is scheduled. Using the Preference / Procedure cards, SPD is able to gather the necessary equipment for the surgical procedure. Accessing SurgiNet To access SurgiNet, you must first log in to the Citrix Web Interface. You can access the Citrix Web Interface in three ways: Select the Citrix Web Access icon on your Desktop. On KDnet, under Popular Links, select eKiDs Access. Type “ekids” into your web browser. Introduction to SurgiNet Applications
Resetting Domain Password All new users Active Directory/Domain passwords are set up to expire the first time you log in. The first time you log in, you are prompted to create your unique password. Your Active Directory/Domain password will need to be changed every 180 days. Introduction to SurgiNet Applications
Resetting Domain Password If you have set up your Specops® password and security questions, you can reset your password online by completing the following steps: From KDnet, select Employee Resources. Select Specops Network Password Reset from underneath the IS Help Desk heading. Enter your information in the fields to validate your identity and reset your password. This action will change your passwords for Citrix, PACS and your network email account. Once completed, these passwords will all match. Accessing SurgiNet After you have logged in to the Citrix Web Interface, all applications for which you have access will display in Applications window. Click on the application icon to display the log on screen. Enter your User Name in the designated field. Enter your Password in the designated field. Click OK or the <ENTER> key. Accessing Case Tracking - Continued Once the SurgiNet application opens, you are able to view the surgical schedule, patient, and procedure information. You are also able to view location tabs for information, depending on your access level and departmental role. Introduction to Case Tracking
Accessing Case Tracking - Continued Recent Button Displays the names of the five most recent patients whose chart you opened. Refresh Button Allows you to manually refresh the data that is being displayed in the Case Tracking window. The time that is listed (i.e. 0 minutes ago) shows the last time that the data was manually displayed. Case Tracking Toolbar Allows you to select options to manage your view of Case Tracking. Accessing Case Tracking - Continued Location Tabs Displays surgical case information based on the patient’s location. Case Tracking Columns Displays surgical information such as surgeon, surgery start and end times, and patient name in an easy-to-read format. 9 Introduction to Case Tracking 9
SurgiNet Case Tracking Columns Column headers, shown below, are visible in SurgiNet depending on your security. For example, the columns / information that an SPD staff member can see may be different from the columns / information that an OR staff member can see. The screen shot above illustrates that surgery case number 501 is scheduled to begin on 09/05/2008 in OR1. This is an Add-On procedure to be performed by Drs. Viewing Information in Case Tracking In cases where user access is limited (i.e. View Only), selecting an icon will not cause additional information to display. Instead, double-clicking on an icon will generate the Set Events window, as shown below. In the Case Tracking Set Events window, the Do Not Use icon will display, illustrating that a user does not have access to set or view the selected event. DO NOT CLICK THE ICON! SurgiNet Case Tracking Toolbar Buttons The Tracking toolbar is displayed to the right of the Organizer toolbar when the Case Tracking window is active. Note: The toolbar buttons that you see will vary based on your security. Introduction to Case Tracking
SurgiNet Case Tracking Menus Menus in the Case Tracking application of SurgiNet operate in the same manner as traditional on-screen menus. Simply point and click to a menu (i.e. Task Menu or Edit Menu), and all options that are available within the menu will display.
