Collision Observing Detection System Robert, Rony, Logan, and Nick

Overview Project Goal Summary Current Progress Demonstration Possible Improvements ?????

Goals/Motive To develop a kit to have collision detecting sensors for cars that do not have them already installed To provide blind spot detection To provide object detection for parking assistance To display all information to driver cleanly on an iOS application To ensure the kit is easy to install on any vehicle

Current Status: Sensors Have created a case that houses 3 sensors connected to Arduino Mega Two sensors are angled for blind spot detection One sensor is angled to face directly behind the car for parking assistance The case attaches to the car with suction cups The Arduino communicates with the application using Bluetooth The case is also equipped with a rechargeable power supply

Current Status: iOS App Communicates with Arduino using Bluetooth Receives the distances each sensor is detecting Allows the user to see data from sensors by displaying colors on screen Blind spots: red if object is detected, green if clear Parking: panel goes from green to red as the car gets closer to an object

Demonstration

Possible improvements Add user configurability for sensor ranges Allow user to incorporate more sensors to the kit Create a more aerodynamic case Improve wiring and heat distribution for the sensor apparatus Android App?
