Browses Browses provide a method of displaying some or all of a particular data set. QAD provides canned browses as well as providing a tools for you to create your own browses. A Browse can be a stand alone program or it can be attached to a field – also known as a drill down. A lookup can be attached to a field. It can return a value to a selected field.

Browse – Search Criteria – Rows Browses provide a method of displaying some or all of a particular data set.

Filters and Operators

Browses – Selection Criteria Click + to add another selection field

Browses – Selection Criteria Range allows the user to use the “From”/”To” functionality typical in a QAD Report. Filter option (funnel to right of column heading)

Browses – Selection Criteria Click x to remove an existing selection field Click Clear All to remove all selection criteria

Browses – Selection Criteria Toggle variable mode allows you to change your user entered criteria into system criteria. Date fields offer options such as “Today”, “Yesterday”, “Tomorrow” Number fields offer other number fields for comparison

Browses – Selection Criteria The last item in the field selection box is “Search for” If you select this field, it will search every field that is displayed in your browse for whatever criteria you enter, and highlight the results in yellow.

Browses - Columns Drag / Drop column headings to re-arrange Right click column heading, select hide column to remove the column from the display Like Excel, you can change column width by dragging

Browses Right-click on any field that is blue and it will lead you to other programs, and default in some basic information.

Browse – Data Integrity Construct a “Super Browse” for each critical table. Publish on the Menu and encourage users to Save As their Favorite. Implement the Auto-Start capability to keep the data at the top of their list.

Browse – Transaction Integrity Construct a Browse to identify specific negative operational conditions: Negative Quantities on Hand Over-Issuing of Components against Work Order Open, Dated Pre-Shipper/Shippers Also identify high priority operational conditions: Items in Inspection Status “Clearing Locations” Evaluate Action Messages in a manageable fashion
